children's 1: Sunday
Today's our first children's camp of the summer! The dynamic has shifted from trying to motivate our (asn) campers to participate to working hard to wear our campers out enough so they'll sleep all night long. So it's a pretty big change, but it's also great to have so much energy here at camp.
Today we split the camp into six teams (they get to pick their own names): The Polka Dots, The Pirate Flamingos, The Cougars, The Tough Cats, The Purple Onion Rings and Emmerson's Angels. The teams will compete throughout the week for a gigantic ice cream sundae. Our first wide game of the week was Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors, and the day ended with The Pirate Flamingos in the lead.
The last cabin light has just gone out about half an hour ago (11:30), but I don't think too many people will be getting much sleep around here tonight -- even if the kids are tired, they're still running on adrenaline. That's okay; that's what the first night of camp is for. By Thurdsay, we'll barley be able to drag them out of bed in the morning.

The cool guys of cabin five.
